Oil painting
For my oil paintings, nature, people from my surroundings and old Dutch masters are the source of inspiration. I like to make paintings with a modern twist using the techniques of the old masters. For example, I use the grisaille technique: an underpainting in one shade, over which I apply colored oil paint layers (glazing). These wafer-thin layers provide a refined, smooth finish.
Diamonds Collection
The Diamond Collection gets its name from the diamond shape of the panels. Although I create them using classical painting techniques, the way they are hung gives them a modern look. This is how I bring classic painting to the here and now. For this collection, I am especially inspired by the little things in nature. On some panels I apply texture even before painting. You can mix and match them to your heart's content and expand your collection step by step. The panels are 10 by 10 cm and have a diameter of 14 cm if you hang them diagonally. Delft Blue
This collection consists of a selection of paintings inspired by Delft blue wall panels. Instead of the standard rectangular shapes, I decided to have my panels lasered in round designs for a playful look. On the paintings, I combine my own color palette with Delft Blue hues. The results are beautiful round paintings, with influences of Old Dutch masters.
Small but fine
The "Small but Fine" series consists of miniature paintings inspired by the Old Dutch masters. These rectangular works are only 5 cm by 6 cm. The round versions are 5 cm in diameter and some even smaller. Even the small frames are hand-painted, so the color nicely matches the small works of art. The first little painting in the series started as a study. I was very curious to what extent I would still be able to paint sharply as the canvas gets smaller. I enjoyed it so much that it grew from a study to a full-fledged painting. Meanwhile it has become a whole series to which new small paintings are added all the time.
