The series titled "klein maar fine" (a Dutch expression that translates as "small but fine") consists of miniature paintings inspired by the Old Dutch masters. These rectangular works are only 5 cm by 6 cm. The round varieties have a diameter of 5 cm and some even smaller. Even the small frames are hand-painted, so the color nicely matches the small works of art.

The first painting in the series began as a study. Amy was very curious to see how well she would still be able to paint with precision as the canvas became smaller. She enjoyed doing it so much that it grew from a study to a full-blown painting. Meanwhile, it has become a whole series and new small paintings are being added all the time.
