Project: small but fine

The series titled "small but fine" consists of miniature paintings inspired by the Old Dutch masters. These rectangular works are only 5 cm by 6 cm. The round varieties have a diameter of 5 cm and some even smaller. Even the small frames are hand-painted, so the color nicely matches the small works of art.

The first painting in the series began as a study. Amy was very curious about how far she would still be able to paint sharply as the canvas gets smaller. She enjoyed doing it so much that it grew from a study to a full-blown painting. Meanwhile, it has become a whole series and new small paintings are being added all the time.
